Salman Ahmed at the SXSW Music
Conference
The South by Southwest Music Conference and Festival will feature a number of
panels dealing with controversial issues as well as examining the lives and
craft of notable artists.
This year's highlights include the Artists' Panel -- "Activist and Protest,"
moderated by Greg Kot and including Salman Ahmad (Junoon), Mike Mills (REM),
John Doe (artist), Jenny Toomey (Future of Music Coalition/Free Press), John
Sinclair (poet/writer), Neal Pollack (writer/artist) and Wavy Gravy
(activist/artist).
"Every Picture Tells a Story Don't It," The Flatstock 2 Panel, will be moderated
by Nels Jacobson, with poster artists Micael Priest, Geoff Peveto and Jermaine
Rogers.
"Featured Speaker: FCC Commissioner Jonathan Adelstein," will have the
commissioner address media ownership rules currently under review.
SXSW 2003 takes place Wednesday, March 12 through Sunday, March 16, in Austin,
